Fourth of July Buntings

Happy Tuesday Morning! 

Today is my daughter's last day of school so what better way to begin summer break but starting to work on our 4th of July decorations... 

Last week I bought a few designs from the Silhouette Store during the big sale and couldn't wait to get started on them. I am making a few banners and then going to make some table center pieces. 

Today I am beginning with the banners. Bunting and 3D Stars. So far I have the bunting done for one banner so far and now to start o the next ones... the designer is Snapdragon Snippets.

I am sorry it is a short post today, but I am going to start to try to post a new project everyday this summer. I hope you enjoyed my little project for today and come back and see what is new... I am working on doing some videos of the projects as I make them so watch for the new videos.  

Been Busy Around Here

Good Morning on this bright and sunny Sunday Morning.

 

I am just sitting here having my coffee and relaxing before the girls and my husband wake up and craziness of my day begins.

We have been busy around here with the end of school coming in just a little over a week and hubby hours are work are increasing as the paving season is now begun. And I have been focusing on the business and working on getting the new shop up and running. It has been taking a lot of my spare time not that I have alot of that as it is but I have been very focused on getting the business going.

 

We have also been taking our youngest daughter to the eye doctors for a lazy eye and crossed eyed in her right eye. Well this past week we met with eye specialist and heard some news that we did not want to hear. It is looking like her muscles and vision never fully developed in her right eye and we have limited time to try to fix it or she could possible end up blind 100% in her right eye. Therapy starts in about a week if not sooner as soon as her new glasses come in. We will be starting by patching her good eye for 2 hours a day and we go back to the specialist in 3 months. She is not letting this slow her down, she is still out running, jumping and riding her bike and enjoying life. We are talking to her every night about what we have to do to help her and bringing her in at the time that we will start her two hours and getting her used to coming in and settling down at that time and she hates not being able to be outside and playing during it but she knows it is to help her and her eye sight.

She is my outdoor girl. She would be outside all day and all night if we allowed it. She loves the fresh air and being active.

I  try not to show her that I am worried but she tells me every day that she knows that I am scared and worried and gives me a big hug and tells me she loves me. So then I know it is ok and she is going to get through this.

 

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest .

 

So now on to what my girls love about me. My girls love every time I create something and they love seeing the finished projects. So this past week I dedicated my creative to them. I made each one of them a Monogram Tile with their first names.

 

I love making things with vinyl and wanted something for their rooms that as their grow older and in time go out on their own they will have something that will be in their homes.

 

 

I used a 6x6 tile that I bought at Lowe's and some scrap black vinyl #631 and then I heat set it to help give it a better seal.

This week I will go and pick up a few more plate stands for them to go their shelves or dresser in their rooms. I love how they all turned out.

 

I even made one for my husband and me with our last name.

 

I used my cameo to create the split letter and added our last name. I love it.

 

I finally made my decal for the business for the truck. I really like how it came out. This week I will be working on a sign for when we do shows and etc.

Timeless Mini Album

Happy Weekend Everyone!

 

 

It is a rainy Saturday here and I am taking advantage of it in the craft studio today. I would much rather be outside doing some gardening and cleaning up in the yard.

 

So today I have finally finished my " Timeless Mini Album" . I have had the base of it done for almost two weeks, but was having a hard time picturing how I wanted the front cover to be finished. Today it came to me and here is what I did to finish it off.

 

 

Album measures 4 1/2" x 6" .

 

Each page has a tag in the top of the page. There is 6 pages, 3 have side pockets and 3 are plain.

 

 

I made the roses from my cameo and the leaves. I added off white lace to a couple of the pages and to the cover with flat back pearls. I had some butterfly metal embellishments in my stash and added them too.

 

I really love how this mini album turned out.

 

I used the stack the deck binding for the pages.

 

On the inside front and back covers I added a pocket with a couple different size tags to use as photo mats.

 

This album can hold approximately 48 photos.

 



 

 

I will be making a video shortly on this mini album.

 

I kept it simple and elegant I did not want to go over on the embellishments.

Micro Mini Album with Alter Matchbox

Hello Everyone! Happy Tuesday

 

I have been busy organizing the craft studio and trying to get things ready for a couple of Craft Fairs that I am doing this month and next month.

 

I have also been trying to set up video taping times to make a few tutorials and more.

 

I have been working on a Altered Matchbox and wanted to make a little album to go inside of it for a shelf in my room.

Here is the box that I altered... I love how it turned out. The paper is from Recollections at Michael's and it was on clearance and I just love the vintage of this paper.

 

 

I cut the butterfly for the Tim Holtz Mover and Shapers die cut and thought it would go perfect with this paper. I added some recollection flat back pearls to the butterfly and curls the wings a little and some tulle behind it to lift it up.

The Micro Mini Album measures 3.5" x 2.25" there is six pages inside to add photos too. I added a brad to the front to wrap the string closure around to keep the album closed.

 

This album fits perfect inside the drawer of the altered box.

Front and Back (chipboard) 3.5 x 2.25

Mats for front and back (inside too) 3 1/8" x 2 1/8"

 

Spine 1 1/4" x 3 1/2"

 

2 stripes  3"x 12"

3 joining strips 1"x 3"

 

12 pages mats 2 7/8" x 1 7/8"

Monster High Party Stuff

 

Monster High is the Theme for my daughter's birthday party this year and I have been going crazy trying to find decorations for her party for months now. The stores don't really have a lots to choose from and nothing she liked. So yesterday I decided to see what I could come up with. I hooked up the Cameo and the software and started to play. I think I got my creativity back that has been missing for a bit. I spent the day creating and gluing...

 

I made party favors, cupcake toppers and some hanging lanterns for decorating.

 

I was laughing with my sister, I am making halloweeen items in March. haha....

 

 

Today I have to work on the center pieces and I have a good idea of what I am going to do. Cameo is all set up and the paper is all picked out now. Now just waiting for youngest daughter to head to school, so I can focus on what I want to do.

 

Here is what I did yesterday.

 

 

 

I made 24 cupcake toppers

 

2 lanterns

 

 

8 Thank you Gift Favor Boxes

 

(and yes their are coffins lol)

 





The MH are printed on the shape then cut out. It was my first time trying that out and I am so happy with how it turned out. I had so much fun making all of these yesterday and so thankful that I am finally using my cameo and learning new things with it.

 

I normally only used the cameo to do my vinyl projects but now I see that I will be using it more often. The features that are endless with the software and the machine are wonderful.

 

Today I will be using the Cameo again for the center pieces.

 

My daughter is very happy with what I came up with for her party and she loves it all.

 

I am also thinking today I will make my decals for my cameo which I haven't done yet.

I will be hosting a Altered Matchbox and Mini Album Swap.

You will altered a kitchen size matchbox ( you can purchase them at walmart, dollar tree and etc ) or you can make you own matchbox in the size of the kitchen one. There are a few tutorials on youtube showing how to make them.

 

Mother Day Theme

 

You will decorate the box and etc and make a matching mini album that could go inside the draw of the matchbox.

Sign ups are from March 12, 2014 to March 31st.

 

All projects are to be completed and mailed by April 30th.

Once you receive your package, I will either like you to take pictures or a video and post to your blog and email your partner that you received your package.

Weekend Vacation

It is Monday!!!!

 

What a great weekend my husband and I had. We went to Vermont to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. When we had started dating we had gone up North for one of our visit trips and we thought it would be wonderful to do that for our Anniversary. It was a great weekend.

 

We stayed in Vermont and we took a day trip to Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We stopped off at Kringle's Candles and it is a wonderful place to stop and look around. I enjoyed our visit there and the people were so welcoming... I can't wait to go back there again this spring with the girls.

 

Their candles are wonderful. The scents are nice and they burn so even and clean.

I love that there is no dyes in their candles.

 

I did not buy a lot of candles but enough to last until my next trip there, plus you can order online too.

 

The we stopped over at the Kringle's Santa Toy Shop and the wonderful displays were just amazing.

 

 

 It was a wonderful visit to the shop.

 

Their restaurant is beautiful too... the outdoor dinning even has a fireplace and it was so cozy.

 

 

Then on our way home we took a trip to the Maple House "Sugarbush Farm" it was another great place to go. We got to taste some different cheeses and Syrups too.

 

 

The scenery was beautiful and it was so relaxing.

 

But I am glad to be home and now it is time to get back to crafting. I did miss being in my craft studio all weekend, but it was a well needed mini vacation for my husband and I. We truly enjoyed it and can't wait to go back with our daughters.

 

 

Well now it is time for me to head to the craft studio and get some roses made and also work on my daughters birthday party stuff. Her 10th party is Saturday and I have so much to get made for it. So I am off to craft.
